Sketch of the Day

As one of my new efforts to rebuikd routines and good art habits, ia to a sketch, every morning. Mothing super fancy or ambitious, just something to start the day with. I'm posting these on my various social media as an endeavor to build better habits, and maybe a little bigger of an audience.

On this blog (at least until i get my website up) I'll post my daily sketches a weekly, coplecting the drawing i did for that week. So friday or sat, I'll post em up here.

For today, ill leave you with this.

Setup time

Im starting the planning phase, now that i have decided to do this patreon thing and transition my biz to accommodate all the other art i produce (and want to produce)

So im setting up a website where everything will go up in a central location, and also the patreon page which will work as a "command center"

These things wont be ready for a while.

Im thinking right now, that my launch date will be somewhere in jan/feb, when i will go full public. In the meantime, i want to build up the routines to keep up the production concept i have,  and maybe allow a few "beta followers" to test things out on.

Once it all gets going, i dont know if i will maintain this or other blogs, as i dont want my presence spread out so far i cant manage it, or keep up with it.

Step by step. First I've set up the patreon and got a squarespace account to build a website.  I have a few projects on my plate intended to be Launch Content, and a list of designs to build for my social media to promote and push attentuon toward the new site.

I can do this. I know i can. I think is the direction i need to go next, and im excited for it in ways that i havent been in a long time. Even aside from the patreon aspect. I am ready to put out the work i have been waiting for.

Star Wars mania

Obviously Star Wars is back in full swi g. With the new movie coming out, ive gotten more requests to do star wars themed designs more than ever.

This one is an in progress sketch of my latest design. Being shown with permission of the client. While it has a long, long way go, its been a blast so far and turning out quite well.

Dragon!

This is a back piece designni am putting together for a client. He gave me permission to post this before doing the ink. Something I dont do often.

Thinking about the future.

So i have been aware of Patreon, and knew it was something i could pursue, but never gave it much thought. Until now.

I think that it would work for and the kind of stuff i do. Ive been wanting to move back into comics and other illustrated art, and use the web to make that easier. I think patreon is my answer.  I have done a bit of research and i need to do a lot more. The big thing is figuring out if i can handle it. So that assessment is where i am at. Part of this is expressing my intrests online, not for any response, but to gel my thoughts and intentions in a tangible form.

So off to the races. 

Rainy Days

So in my earlier post, i put up a pic of this piece. In the time since, i inked it, and though this is a cell phone pic, i wanted to drop it here, uncropped. Though the IG post will pull more likes, i am sure.

Damn

It's been a damn long while since i have posted on this space. I guess partly cause i forgot about it, and partly cause i havent had much to say... i am finding my voice again though. The times change so quickly, and it can be easy to get left behind,  especially when your getting close to 40, as i am.

Alas, the wheels never stop grinding. And the work is never done. I persist, and am always seeking to improve my own inner guidance system, and stay off the default setting.

If i have anything of substance of value, ill be sure to put it up here. Perhaps even first.
