News Update

Massive upheaval in the personal life lately. I have faith everything will work out for the best though....

In other, less vague news, The new(old) Shop is doing very well, and we're continuing our improvements and efforts step by step. We'll have a bit of construction as we take on structural improvements, so there will be a day or two of disruption as we can't expose our finest canvas' to dust and chemical exposure. Updates on when that will happen will be posted on our facebook page

Otherwise, I'm swamped with new custom designs, and many that have taken far too long to get worked out... Lots of work with the shop, getting the new branding underway, along with planning construction, events and a marketing machine, putting together new designs and materials... Still have so much to do...

So not much to this weeks post. I just don't have time to put in a decent bit. maybe I'll do another SkullHead and Bunny midweek.

I have a new rule about the blog. I will not do a post without a picture. regardless if it's related.

This is what the fuss is all about!

You heard it here first! The Jade Monkey Crew will be moving to Artistic Tattoo, and taking over one of the oldest and best known shops in Phoenix. We plan to reopen the place on Feb 1st, and will be doing everything that can be done to revive the reputation and status of the shop in the valley, as well as bringing the spirit of the Jade Monkey with us to our new location as well!

I designed this about 4 years ago for Artistic. I am happy to be able to use it again!

More details as they develop, including hours, policies and pricing will be made available in the next few days.

Thank you for bearing with us during this transition. it's not easy for us, but it's deffinitely going to be a positive move for The Jade Monkey Crew as well as Artistic Tattoo.

New New New!

Man, there is a lot going on. Some of it I can talk about, and some I can't. What I can talk about is the new stuff I got going on personally. (Jade Monkey News comes out this sat).

I joined another tattoo commission website, though I haven't gotten into it quite yet. It looks pretty cool so far, but I'm still not ready to endorse it yet.

Slowing down on the Createmytattoo.com site, just have too many projects going on, even though I'm still adding more to the pile, I need to make sure I dont thin myself out too much.

Got some new products on the cafepress store, and took some down. There is also a store button added to the blog under the header. I plan to add more of the artwork I've produced as various products... you know... merchandising. Though it would be ideal to have a higher quality production ability, that will just have to come later. I can't wait anymore to put this stuff out and get you to buy it!

Check out the stickers especially. I will be adding a bunch more of those!

Also getting the latest Art Book put together, it's going to big, and the largest collection of my work to date. I'm excited to have one just for myself. but that may still take a few months. It all depends how the next few weeks go.

Somehow, I will also get the next weeks strip done for ASleightOfMind, thankfully Kenny is there to help out.

And I actually have a Collector spotlight! Not the one I had planned, but a great piece to show off anyway.

It's hard out there for an Artist...

My First Portrait! Still fresh and incomplete, but I am very happy with how this has turned out so far.

Life doesn’t get any easier does it? The Tattoo biz is slow this time of year, in what has been the slowest year since I’ve gotten into tattooing. But then, I’ve never let something like that get in my way. I have been working on “other means” of income, something I didn’t worry so much about before my Daughter came into the world. But now it’s got to be a regular part of the game plan.

I’ve been meaning to post some of my older projects, work I did before I got into tattoos, and I still plan to do so, but I have been pretty focused on getting more tattoo, and tattoo design work done, also putting together a new portfolio, something I’ve needed to do for a while now…

I still have my sketchbooks available through Superior Tattoo, and on Amazon as well, just follow the following links,   Book1       Book2  they make great Christmas gifts and can be a good source of ideas.

I am also working on a set of Flash Art I will debut on This Site I am checking out. We’ll see if it turns out to be as cool as it claims, if so, you’ll find a lot of my work go up there.

I have also been working on a Sci-Fi novel, and a few other “hobby projects” that I will have to set aside for a bit as I get a few of these other tattoo projects sorted out.

Unfortunately, I will have to make some changes to the way I do things come this New Year. Most of which I will explain as time goes by, as things are still up in the air. “Evolve or Die” is the motto of the day! And I got a Baby to feed.

I've been finishing up some large projects, a few back pieces and sleeves that are finally getting buttoned up. once I can get some good healed pics, I'll do a few new collector spotlights.
